Battlefield 3 Alpha trial

i just got invitation for alpha test from dice in email, don't know why me , will give it a go i think

Waheey at least I'm not the only one. Though I was 4 hours faster than Dice as I've just got the email too :p

First impressions looks good. Yes it crashes a lot (but its an early build). New lighting looks impressive and little things like looking into a dark room from outside in the sun look realistic in the fact you can hardly see in.

Hit reg is a million times better than Bad Company :) Nearly as good as COD 4 (on a good server) and the fact my aim is off with the iron sights and recoil doesn't help.

Only downside is that soldiers still throw grenades like girls i.e only about 15m away

when you get into game press ESC
that lets you into options where you can select full screen and resolutions
Tried the gfx at low/med and high but not much difference if any
Button cfg is a git tho lol
luckily i can reprog them on my g13

if you have problems launching the game from battle log
login here first, then launch game
battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/gate < add http://

Under "Quick Match" there is a blue Configure button
click this and it will allow you to select servers from EU / America etc etc
Under this is a list of the servers

Pain is there is no toggle on aim, you have to keep mouse btn2 pressed

gfx do look good tho, even though it is an alpha
Gameplay is faster than any other battlefield

Fps = 30-50 outside and 70-80 in train station



wasd are normal
R = reload/pick up weapon
Q = mark enemy
Shift = Sprint
F = Knife
X = toggle crouch
Z = Prone
V = Alternate fire (auto/semi Fire)
M = map
G = Grenade
J = chat all
K = Chat team
L = chat team only

haha i got 25-45fps outside so same as BC2

What you managed to get hold of a key Sirus?

And Control also toggles crouch which I find easier :)
