i hav jst tried 2 go on cod 4 and the message i have put as the title keeps coming up. does any1 kno wt this means?

COD4 Error- "Sys_SendPacket: bad address type"

If anyone gets this error, go to your Main folder and delete 'servercache' (DAT file). This should take care of it.

FYI - you will lose your 'Favorites'.

yh i was jst lukin at tht but i cant find teh folder!

Just in case anyone else did run into this problem heres the best way i have found to fix it but its kind of a pain. I tried everything to get rid of it. Unistalled reinstalled, uninstalled again, Cleaned the registry of anything resembling Call of duty. Reinstalled again. resulted in alot of wasted time, pissed off friends, and alot less mt. dew in the fridge. But i tried starting it in safe mode and when i did it automatically loads up in multi-player to look on the lan for games first. So then i switched to multi-player unsafe mode- What ever you call it- and its looks on the lan first there as well. HOOORAY!!!! The only downfall is you have to go through and reset your graphics and sound settings again as they all go back to poo settings. The problems has arose since then a time or 3 but this seems to kill it every time. I just have to go through switch modes, then go reset my settings and back to putting flamingboard between my cross hairs

twisted i cant find tht dat file all i can find is iwd files in the main along wiv a folder called videos n it aint in ther wt shud i do?

dont actually go into 'main' welshy mate. its just in the cod4 folder, Program Files/Activision/Cod4 MW its the 2nd file from the bottom

im sure twisted meant 'main' as in THE main folder of the game, or the 'base'

still cant find it m8 all i can find is version file n mss32.dll. omg this is annoyin me loads! btw sirus tried ur advice n thanks 4 it but it aint workin

Right click on your desktop or start menu shortcut and select properties, on the screen that appears click find target.

This should take you to the Call of Duty 4 folder, the Servercache.dat should be in the visible folder.
Its normally on the bottom row and third from the right.

i still cant find it m8 thanks for tryin though, it comes up wiv all the same things as b4 but no severcache.dat i will try lukin on the internet but thanks anyway 2 all tht hav tried 2 help. appreciated
