Si - would you maybe do me a simple one for my DJing?

Recently bought www.markmciver.co.uk and just have a holding page there so far....

Was wanting somewhere to host my mixes, and have a little bio about me and then have the ability for me to update the content quite easily and fairly frequently withthings like upcoming gigs, new flyer jpegs, etc

yeah sparky no problem
what software are you using and how much space have you got with your hosting package?
You may need a few gb of space depending on what music you want hosted and a couple of sql databases
I can keep the pages simple but will need to go through it with you so you can edit or add text/pics/music etc easily
I will see what simple packages are available that you can use to edit simly:ie dreamweaver, but it does mean you will need to familiarise yourself with the software, Just depends on what you want on it

This site uses about 3gb+ and a few sql bases and shitlkoads of code

I do have webhosting packages available with cpanel and can give you some prices if ya want hosting

Nothing yet mate - I've literally just bought the domain and whacked a holding page on there using the crappy online software that they offer you.

So don't have a host or any webspace as yet, and would appreciate any advice you might have on this.

Would probably need decent amount of space / bandwidth though as one of the main fuctions of the site was to allow people to download mixes, each of which are about 50-100 mb

Cheers for your help on this Si :)

np mate

Leave it with me and i sort you something out
Looks like you might need a shedload of bandwidth which aint a problem
I'll put a musical theme on it
I may need you to add the new nameservers to your domain account so it will see the pages i've done
If not i will get you to transfer the domain to a new hosting account and give you full access

Ok sparky i have thrown a website together for you
As i have no clue what ya want this is only a very rough draft
You have a 4 page site already setup now, all you need to do is edit the text
I will add the download links for music etc for you
This site is live on the net for ya

If you have any links to music that is hosted on youtube etc let me know
also i need your facebook id number to link it to the site
and any album art etc you have too

Hello mate - That's awesome! Thank you very much :)

Yeah most of the music would just be hosted on the site it self as MP3 mixes for download but it would be nice to be able to link to youtube videos, etc as I'm going to upload my individual songs there as each one is completed (only done one so far and it's not on you tube yet!).

Programming / Design wise, I used to mness around with HTML code back in the days before Dreamweaver, etc and have had a play around with a couple of simple web design packages so reckon I could get my head round one of the simpler ones, fairly easily. What would you recommend? Dreamweaver?

Have a facebook account but no real stuff on there that I could use in terms of pictures, etc. I've got a guy hopefully gonna do some promo shots soon though so maybe just put the pictures in my facebook group in there for now..

My Facebook group ID is: 45704346774 Link: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=45704346774
Personal Profile Link: http://www.facebook.com/markmciver2 - Not sure what the ID number is...

Cheers Sirus :)

http://WWW.MARKMCIVER.INFO

As soon as you get the youtube uploads done, give me the links and i will add them to your new webpage
I have now added Live Chat to your site, visitors can now chat to you live about the music when visiting the site

I threw this together in an hour or so, so it is just a rough outline as i said
